‘Deer’ 2020 began its life as a paper study for a commissioned painting for an existing Jason Oliva painting collector. The painting was for their home in Sag Harbor in the Hamptons. I enjoy painting animals and even I was surprised that I had never painted a Deer….in the past I had painted a small grey faun in my ‘Artemis’ painting so that was as close as I had gotten.
I really like the Naples yellow background. In the coming days I am going to work on creating works on paper of the image available for purchase.
