Happy New Year All!

The original work on canvas, Octopus, was one of the last paintings I sold in 2013. And one of the first pieces I sold in 2014 was an Octopus small and large works on paper, somehow nautically tying the two years together.

As we await the February arrival of the second release of Jason Oliva [Wine],  Astronaut 2010, Dirk Roos and myself are already in the early stages of preparing for the third release, Octopus 2011, due to arrive in NYC towards the end of this year. (anyone who received a 2013 Jason Oliva [Holiday Card] with the Octopus on the front already had a heads-up that this was going to be the next Jason Oliva [Wine] release!)

While 2013 ended up being ‘The Year of the Astronaut’ (the original work on canvas, Astronaut, sold; the pre-order for Astronaut 2010 wine almost sold out; the Astronaut works on paper left the studio in a steady stream and the first Jason Oliva [Clothing] T.Shirt, with the Astronaut image on the front, was successfully launched) – it would seem then that 2014 is fast shaping up to be ‘The Year of the Octopus’ …. got a certain ring to it, don’t you think?
