Recently sold Portrait painting: Alexander Hamilton 2016 by Jason Oliva

Hello Everyone

I actually drew the study for this painting back in 2002. I was in temporary accommodations at the time due to the events of 911 and I was wanted to work on my portraiture. Having no internet at the time to search for source material I opened my wallet and drew Lincoln, Hamilton and Franklin. It was only recently that I received a request for a Hamilton portrait after the popularity of the Broadway show and also the large Lincoln work on paper that I had created years ago:

In the end it took about 14 years from study to painting…and Franklin is still waiting to be painted and maybe also celebrated on Broadway. If you like the Hamilton image have no fear because I just made it available as a hand painted limited edition work on paper in the small size…if anyone would like a larger one feel free to ask I will eventually add the larger ones to the shop.
