Seated Scribe 2010 by Jason Oliva
Acrylic on Canvas
34″ x 24″
I started work on the seated scribe study in 2009 after seeing the famed statue in an Egyptian art book. It was years later that I realized it was one of the most visited art works in the Louvre. I completed the painting in 2010 while working on my NY show for that same year. It had always been one of my favorite paintings, I really liked how he seemed to be looking in two directions at once. As a result it has been part of my personal collection and adorning my homes walls for over 8 years until its recent sale.
Works on paper will be made of Seated Scribe upon demand
